What the Range Rover Electric looks like
Rendering of this new model unveiled
Emphasis on future-oriented image
Land Rover is preparing to launch an electric vehicle model, the Range Rover Electric, as part of its electrification strategy. Previously, Land Rover released a teaser video for the new model and revealed some design hints.
The exact design will not be known until launch. Still, the electric Range Rover revealed in the official teaser appears to share most of the design with the internal combustion engine model without much difference. It is expected to maintain the existing familiar design and undergo some detailed changes while focusing on securing efficiency through the electric powertrain.
In reality, there doesn’t seem to be much change
A new look that reflects the imagination
Consumers have had mixed reactions to this pricing. Many expressed disappointment, hoping for an emphasis on the image of electric vehicles in addition to new design changes. The Range Rover Electric, which has elicited varied responses even before its launch, is now drawing attention as it is featured in renderings with a new look.
This is a rendering of the rear of the Range Rover Electric created by virtual rendering designer Vince Burlapp. This creates a very different feeling from the appearance in the previously unveiled teaser video. As it has already been revealed to some extent through a teaser, it appears somewhat distant from reality. Still, it draws various responses from netizens through its unique appearance that reflects the designer’s personality.
A thin rectangular light bar is applied
Smoothly finished rear lines
At the rear, a light bar is applied along the tailgate line to emphasize the electric vehicle’s future-oriented image. The inside of the square light bar is painted high-gloss black to add a sophisticated feel. However, in the case of the actual design revealed in the teaser image, vertical thin tail lamps are applied. Additionally, a black band connects the tailgate, and Range Rover lettering is engraved on it.
The bumper design was changed in the rendering. Since the rear bumper design was not detailed in the teaser video, it may differ from the internal combustion engine model. The internal combustion engine model had an angular and protruding bumper design, but the Range Rover Electric in the rendering stands out for its smooth treatment along the rear line.
Emphasizing the black color in the rear design
Creating a continuous feeling with the side
Along with smooth lines, the black high-glossy finish creates an appearance that seems connected to the rear and sides. The black color was applied extensively, including the roof line and the D-pillar. To add detail to the design, a black color with a sharp angle was applied to the lower part of the side.
Unlike the rear, most of the front’s design was revealed through a teaser. However, there was no significant difference in design from the internal combustion engine model at the front. The square headlamp continues with the horizontal pattern grille, and the design emphasizing bold lines was applied as is.
