We live in an era where electric vehicles are the most sold globally. The Tesla Model Y has become the best-selling vehicle, beating out internal combustion engine vehicles that had been ranked first in sales for a long time. The reasons for this are Tesla’s high reliability as an electric vehicle, the latest technology applied in various ways, and its high eco-friendliness.

In the spring of 2024, Tesla launched the Highland, a face-lift version of the Model 3, with a more sophisticated design and improved performance. The Model Y face-lift model Juniper was recently unveiled in the US, attracting attention. Let’s take a closer look at what the vehicle looks like, covered in camouflage.

Foreign media outlets recently reported on the camouflaged vehicle of the Tesla Model Y face-lift ‘Juniper.’ The first photo, posted on Reddit online, was captured near Pasadena, California.

In the photo, a vehicle believed to be Model Y appears to be parked with camouflage installed on the front and rear. The side parts and wheels are not significantly different from the current Model Y. Even though part of the vehicle is obscured, the front part shows a silhouette similar to the Model 3 face-lift launched in the spring of 2024.

What are the expected changes and features?
Will it be launched in the first half of 2025?

The biggest external change in the “Juniper” Model Y is expected to be the C-shaped tail lamps at the front and rear. The information that has been unveiled so far is that the trunk and tail lamp open together, and because of this, an auxiliary lamp was attached to the bottom of the bumper. Additionally, a yoke steering wheel can be selected as an option.

Questions are also being raised about whether the launch schedule will be adjusted due to the captured Model Y face-lift. This is because Elon Musk concluded that the “Juniper” Model Y (face-lift) will not be revealed regarding its launch schedule in 2024. According to his remarks and the information from the captured vehicle, it seems highly likely that it is being tested ahead of launch in 2025.

The outline seems to be gradually revealed
Will it remain number one in sales?

Considering that the camouflaged vehicle was spotted 6 to 7 months before the launch of the Model 3 Highland, it seems likely that the Juniper will be unveiled and launched in the US during the first quarter of 2025. Although detailed information about the Model Y face-lift model has not been disclosed, it is expected to be equipped with improved battery performance and safety specifications compared to the current model.

Starting with the vehicle captured this time, information about the “Juniper” Model Y is expected to become more apparent. Attention is once again focused on Model Y, the world’s number one seller, to see whether it will be able to make an appearance in 2025 as people expect.
