What changes have been confirmed?
When you think of the American auto brand Jeep, what vehicle comes to mind first? Most people will probably refer to the Wrangler, famous for its excellent off-road driving performance. As such, Jeep is generally known as a brand that focuses on selling vehicles with strong off-road tendencies and has secured a fan group.
However, Jeep also has a family SUV that continues to drive sales: the Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee, Jeep’s flagship SUV model, sells more than 200,000 units annually and was recently spotted before the facelift version’s launch. Let’s take a closer look at what changes have been made.
The most significant changes appear to be at the front
The lamp details and grille have been changed
The newly captured Grand Cherokee is a 2026 model and a facelift version. The camouflage is primarily on the front, indicating that the sides and rear have not changed significantly from the current model. Based on the information released, the updates are expected to include changes to the air intake, grille, and front bumper.
Although it is impossible to distinguish with the naked eye due to the camouflage membrane, it is presumed that the position of the headlamp has also been adjusted. A special feature is that the Jeep badge on the front is covered while maintaining the Grand Cherokee lettering, but this part has not yet been disclosed. In the case of the rear, although there is almost no camouflage, the Jeep badge is obscured, stimulating curiosity.
In terms of the interior, it is improved over the current model
Turbocharger instead of naturally aspirated engine
The interior is also covered with camouflage, making it difficult to see any significant changes. However, unlike the current model, the next-generation in-vehicle infotainment system is expected to be applied, and a larger display will be installed. The steering wheel, interior design, improved self-driving functions, and an upgraded ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) are expected to be applied.
Changes to the powertrain are also planned for the latest model. The current V6 and V8 engines will be discontinued and replaced by a new hybrid powertrain that combines a turbocharged engine with an electric motor. While it is unfortunate that the naturally aspirated engine is being phased out, introducing a hybrid powertrain is expected to boost sales steadily.
Expected to launch around 2025
The release schedule for the facelift version of the Grand Cherokee is not yet known. The current model was launched in 2024, and the full-change model is scheduled to be launched in 2026, so industry experts predict that the Jeep Grand Cherokee facelift model will be launched in 2025.
