The Tesla Cybertruck has become a hot topic recently. It initially drew attention for its futuristic design, but skepticism grew as its launch faced repeated delays. After finally hitting the market, Cybertruck received numerous critical reviews due to its quality not meeting expectations.

Despite the criticisms, the Cybertruck’s design continues to generate significant buzz. In response to this interest, a YouTuber, Cyber Hooligan, created and unveiled a sports car inspired by Cybertruck’s style, dubbed the Cyber Roadster project. Let’s take a closer look at the model resulting from this project and explore its design features.

It started with a damaged vehicle
Cyber Roadster Project

The project started with a damaged vehicle. The user was driving a Tesla Model 3 when it was wrecked in an accident. He decided to repair the car himself and transformed it into a two-door sports car model, the Roadster. However, because the body panels of the Model 3 and the Roadster were completely different, only the bonnet and doors were salvaged from the existing vehicle. The remaining panels were either custom-made or sourced from other cars.

For example, the DRL on the front was manufactured using an LED light bar, and the light strip of the tail lamp is said to have been taken from the 2023 LX600. Also, in the case of the rear bumper, the rear bumper of Subaru BRZ was attached. In addition, 20-inch Rohana RC7 wheels and Toyo Proxes S tires are installed, and the seat position is said to be lowered by 3 inches compared to the previous model.

In production for 2 years
The cost was $50,000

The project is currently in its second year, but it is said to be not yet complete. Nonetheless, it shows a relatively high level of completeness. So far, The production cost is about $50,000, which means investing more than the price of a new Model 3 Long Range model. Since it is still unfinished, more investment is still needed.

So far, the vehicle’s exterior showcases a unique blend, resembling a hybrid of a roadster, Corvette, Cybertruck, and Model 3, forming a distinct sports car appearance. However, the interior details have not yet been revealed. The powertrain is retained from the YouTuber’s own Tesla Model 3 Performance. This setup delivers 480 horsepower and 65.2 kg.m of torque, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.2 seconds.

The project has been a hot topic on YouTube and was even exhibited at a show

The YouTuber has consistently filmed vehicles being manufactured and uploaded them to YouTube. Until now, the number of video views was only a few thousand, but as the project progressed, it increased significantly, and now the number of subscribers has increased to over 200,000.

Cyber Hooligan said he did not expect his project to receive this much attention. He expressed his gratitude for the interest in him and later took his car to an event and displayed it. It is said that the Cyber Roadster was a popular model at the event.
