As outdoor activities surged following the pandemic, many people have shifted their preferences from sedans to SUVs and minivans. SUVs, in particular, offer enhanced space utilization and improved ride quality compared to older models, making them popular choices for families. Some minivans are even being adapted into camper vehicles, reflecting their versatility and steady demand.

Nissan’s Caravan, a flagship minivan, has been a staple for six generations and is known for its reliable design, practicality, and durability. The latest model, the MyRoom, stands out with an interior that offers an extraordinary level of comfort, almost like moving into a small house. Let’s delve into the features and interior of this new model.

While the exterior may not stand out, the interior resembles a home

The MyRoom model is notably larger than the standard Caravan, stretching 5,080 mm (200 inches) in length to provide generous interior space. Externally, it closely resembles the general Caravan, with only subtle differences such as a rugged-looking grille, mirror caps, and black steel wheels while maintaining a classic design.

The real highlight, however, is the interior. Inside the MyRoom, you might feel like you’ve entered a Japanese luxury hotel. The cabin features extensive wood paneling and modular furniture designed to maximize space utilization, creating a sophisticated and comfortable environment.

Exceptional space utilization with options for gasoline or diesel engines

The MyRoom model offers flexible lighting and privacy options with adjustable blinds and curtains to divide the space. The second-row seats can be converted into a sofa for added comfort. Optional features include a fold-down bed or a fabric lift-up bed. The interior is powered by a battery pack recycled from Nissan’s Leaf, providing electricity through an AC 100 V outlet.

Regarding the powertrain, buyers can choose between a 2.0L naturally aspirated gasoline engine producing 129 horsepower or a 2.5L diesel engine generating 130 horsepower. Both engines are paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. The gasoline engine comes with rear-wheel drive, while the diesel engine offers an optional all-wheel drive.

Prices start from about $38,000 to $45,000
It seems to be sold only in Japan

The Nissan Caravan MyRoom camper model is priced between approximately $38,000 and $45,000. This price offers significant value, as it provides a high level of utility without requiring additional modifications.

If MyRoom were introduced in other markets, such as South Korea or the U.S., it would likely become very popular. Unfortunately, this vehicle appears to be available exclusively in Japan.
