Genesis G70 Shooting Brake Goes Off-Road: First Look at the G Magma Binary Rendering
newautopost Views
What if the Genesis G70 Shooting Brake is launched as the off-road model?
High-quality virtual rendering sparks interest
Unique crossover vehicles that blend previously unthinkable combinations are emerging in the automotive world. Notable examples include the Toyota Crown crossover, which merges elements of a sedan and an SUV; the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, which fuses a sports car with off-road capability; and the Porsche 911 Dakar.
Imagine if Genesis’ high-performance division, Magma, ventured into this territory. On August 3, the automotive creative group WRD unveiled a virtual rendering of the G Magma Binary, a concept that combines off-road features with the G70 Shooting Brake Magma.
Optimized for rough terrain
Balancing toughness and sophistication
According to WRD, the G Magma Binary is designed to feature a standard all-wheel-drive system suitable for both on-road and off-road conditions. The model’s exclusive color and distinctive livery, Dune Strider, draws inspiration from the G70 GR4 Gran Turismo Concept. Its design combines strength and sophistication, fitting for a cross-country vehicle.
The G Magma Binary contrasts sharply with the current G70 Shooting Brake. Notably, it has a raised ride height to enhance off-road capability. The vehicle is also equipped with skid plates at the front and rear to protect the body from rough terrain, and wheelhouse cladding adds further durability.
Additional lighting was applied throughout

Additional lighting was applied for the front to ensure forward visibility even in the wild without any lights. Inside the grille, two horizontal LED bars on both sides and four diamond-shaped cubic LED auxiliary lights in pairs in the front bumper fog light locations add to the presence. The top of the windshield has been equipped with a large LED searchlight.
The Delta 4×4 wheels, specialized for off-road driving, are paired with all-terrain tires to provide solid feet. The bonnet scoop, not found on the current G70 Shooting Brake, is also notable and said to have been inspired by the G80 Magma special model. The roof is equipped with a dedicated carrier, allowing additional cargo to be loaded beyond what the Shooting Brake’s trunk space can accommodate.
It was made with realism in mind
WRD highlights that their approach to designing the G Magma Binary was grounded in practicality, aiming to address real users’ needs. This suggests they have considered transformations that would maximize the vehicle’s potential in actual production beyond just virtual renderings. While it remains up to the Genesis brand to decide whether to bring this concept to life, achieving such a vision is certainly within the realm of possibility if they commit to it.
