Elon Musk’s Ridiculous Rumor
A Cybertruck Gift to Russia?
He Finally Responded Himself
The Cybertruck, Tesla’s most distinctive model, has garnered significant attention and controversy, both positive and negative, even before its official launch. Recently, the Cybertruck made headlines for an unexpected reason: it was leaked to Russia, which is currently engaged in conflict with Ukraine.
In a surprising turn of events, the Cybertruck was modified into a military vehicle for use on the battlefield. The leader of Chechen was seen driving the modified Cybertruck, and Tesla CEO Elon Musk publicly thanked him, claiming that Musk had personally given him the vehicle. This development has shocked many and raised questions about how the Cybertruck ended up in this situation.
Chechen Leader’s Claim: “Thank You, Elon Musk”
On Saturday, Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Russia’s Chechnya region, shared a video on his Telegram channel featuring a Cybertruck navigating an unusual route. The roughly one-minute and forty-second video shows Kadyrov driving the top-of-the-line Cyberbeast, a modified version of the Cybertruck, through the streets of Grozny, the capital of Chechnya.
There’s something more eye-catching than the fact that the Cybertruck is in his hands. The machine gun mounted on the cargo bed shows that the vehicle is not just a collectible. Posing next to the machine gun with ammunition strapped to his body, he claimed that he “received the Tesla Cybertruck from the esteemed Elon Musk.”
Machine Gun on the Battlefield?
Elon Musk Responds
Kadyrov called the Cybertruck “one of the best cars in the world” and said, “I express my sincere gratitude to Elon Musk.” He said, “the strongest genius of our time and a specialist. A great man,” and invited Musk to Chechnya. He even hinted at the possibility of the vehicle being used in war, saying, “Cybertruck will soon be sent to a special military operation zone.”
The video quickly spread after its release, and rumors that “Elon Musk provided Russia with a vehicle for military purposes” also spread online. In response, Musk actively denied the claims on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Are you seriously so stupid that you think I gave a Cybertruck to a Russian general? This is another example of how traditional media lie.”
Perfect for Military Use?
The Police Vehicle Model Already Come Out
Ramzan Kadyrov is under sanctions from both the U.S. and the EU due to human rights abuses, among other issues. The situation would be highly controversial if it were revealed that Musk had gifted Kadyrov a Cybertruck equipped with a machine gun. Even if Musk did not personally gift the Cybertruck to Kadyrov, concerns remain about whether Tesla’s luxury vehicles are easily accessible to the Russian power elite despite Western sanctions.
The Tesla Cybertruck is notable for its super-hard alloy outer shell, which sets it apart from typical mass-produced vehicles. This same material in SpaceX spacecraft offers bulletproof protection against reasonably sized bullets. As a result, the UAE has adopted the Cybertruck for use as a police vehicle, and in the U.S., Tesla’s specialized tuning company, Unplugged Performance, has introduced a police vehicle version of the Cybertruck.
