Despite the nation’s genuine love for them, Malaysian tigers face extinction

In Malaysia, tigers hold significant cultural importance and are even featured on the national emblem. Unfortunately, these majestic animals face severe roadkill threats and other dangers. Experts have recently warned that Malaysia may face a national emergency as tiger populations are rapidly dwindling.

Vehicle collisions with tigers are becoming increasingly common. In May, a tiger was struck and killed by a car while crossing a highway in central Malaysia. Later, in late June, another Malayan tiger was found dead in a river in the northern region, with roadkill suspected as the cause of death.
