Toyota has launched the 2025 model of its full-size pickup truck, the Tundra, featuring a new TRD Rally Package that includes various exterior and performance enhancements. As Toyota’s largest vehicle and flagship pickup, the Tundra stands out in the brand’s lineup.
Despite a competitive market, with North American pickup truck sales projected to surpass 2.5 million units this year, according to global market research firm Statista, the Tundra has performed well. In 2023, it sold 125,185 units in the U.S., placing it sixth in overall pickup truck sales.
The Tundra features a decal that runs in three colors: red, orange, and yellow
The Toyota Tundra has garnered considerable attention thanks to its enhanced off-road capabilities and rugged design, which appeal to consumers globally.
Let’s explore the new TRD Rally Package’s exterior modifications. This package introduces eye-catching red, orange, and yellow stripes on the front grille, lower doors, rear tailgate, and center wheels. It also includes 18-inch wheels with off-road tires and a front skid plate to shield the vehicle from dirt and debris.
Advanced specifications for off-road application
Road shock absorption and attitude control
The TRD Rally Package also extends its vibrant red, orange, and yellow accents to the interior. The Tundra has Bilstein monotube dampers for off-road driving to absorb impacts and provide a smoother ride over rough terrain.
The multi-terrain select feature allows the Tundra to adapt to various surfaces, offering precise braking control to handle wheel slip and spin effectively. The electronically controlled rear locking differential enhances traction, driving stability, and weight distribution, especially during turns. A front stabilizer bar also helps maintain vehicle stability by controlling body roll on uneven surfaces, ensuring the Tundra performs optimally even in challenging off-road conditions.
It is also equipped with a massage function
Up to 5,443 kg (11,999 pounds) towing capacity
For the 2025 model, the Toyota Tundra introduces several new features. The 1794, Platinum, and Capstone trims now include 10-way power seats with a massage function for added comfort in the first row. The SR5 trim has an eight-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar support.
The Tundra is available in both four-door double cab and CrewMax configurations. The rear bed length varies from 1,680 mm (66.1 inches) to 2,470 mm (97.2 inches), offering more flexibility. An electric tailgate enhances convenience, and features like a panoramic view and an optional wireless trailer camera help manage the truck’s large size. The camera displays real-time images on the digital rearview mirror or the 14-inch infotainment screen.
The powertrain remains unchanged from the previous model, maintaining a maximum payload capacity of 880 kilograms (1,940 pounds) and a towing capacity of 5,443 kilograms (11,999 pounds).
