Ford’s Full-Size SUV with Three Rows
Unveils the 2025 Expedition
Making a Clean Appearance Without Camouflage
Ford’s Expedition, a three-row full-size SUV, has been in production since 1996 and has seen four generations. The most recent update was a facelift released in September 2021, and there has been no new generation since. However, anticipation for a new generation of the Ford Expedition has been building with the gradual release of spy shots starting in 2023.
The initial spy shots from last year were heavily camouflaged, obscuring details like the grille and taillights, though the vehicle’s Expedition identity was apparent. In May, new spy shots offered a glimpse of the upcoming model. Finally, on August 28, an uncovered 2025 Ford Expedition featuring the Off-Road Tremor trim was spotted being test-driven, providing a more precise look at the new generation.
Unveiling the Tremor Trim: Is Off-Road Performance the Focus?
As it appeared with the Tremor trim, which focuses on off-road, it has orange accents on the tow hook, bumper light housing, and wheel spokes. It is equipped with 33-inch tires that are the same size as the Ford F-150 Tremor. The front end also has a body frame similar to the F1-150. The new F-150 aims to have a family design with many details, including similar lights.
The headlights and grille are straight. The headlights are thinner than the existing Expedition’s, and the tailgate has also been changed. The taillights have also been changed from the existing C-shape to a straight shape. In the case of the existing Expedition, the chrome decoration on the rear window was straight, but it has been changed to a slightly raised shape to show off its individuality.
Ford is also Establishing a Family Look
It seems there won’t be significant changes to the powertrain
Recent photos have revealed the interior of the 2025 Ford Expedition, showcasing a redesigned dashboard that will likely replace the current instrument panel. The new model features a prominent 13.2-inch central touchscreen, aligning with the screens seen in Ford’s 2025 lineup. Below the screen, the dashboard includes cupholders and a driving mode dial designed for ease of use by the driver.
The 2025 Expedition is anticipated to retain the same powertrain as the current model. This means it will likely be equipped with a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, delivering a maximum output of 405 horsepower and 66.0 kg.m of torque. Opting for the Tremor or Limited trims will enhance performance capabilities.
This Year Marks the Year of Large SUVs
The New Palisade is Set to Launch Soon
The Ford Expedition is set to debut at the end of 2024, coinciding with the launch of its sibling, the Navigator, which will enter its fifth generation. This year, General Motors is also expanding its lineup of full-size SUVs with models like the Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, and Chevrolet Tahoe, marking a significant push in this vehicle segment. Although the launch price for the 2025 Ford Expedition has not yet been announced, it is expected to be in a similar range as its predecessor, which was priced between $55,630 and $83,800.
