Suzuki’s mini-vehicle Alto Lapin
Fully redesigned and unveiled in 2025
Hybrid technology for the first time
Suzuki is gearing up to launch a fully redesigned Alto Lapin, set to debut in 2025. First introduced in 2002, the Alto Lapin was created as a separate model from the Alto to appeal to a female demographic, featuring design elements tailored for women.
It’s been nearly a decade since the third-generation model was released in 2015, and the anticipated redesign is generating significant buzz among consumers. The new model will hit the market in late 2024 or early 2025.
The rounded lines of the hood and front end will feature oval-shaped headlights
According to a recent rendering from Japanese automotive media outlet Response, the upcoming Alto Lapin will sport a refreshed design with rounded lines and oval-shaped headlights. This new design embraces a two-box shape, with the enlarged oval headlights enhancing the vehicle’s front-end presence.
The redesigned front end features a more rounded bonnet and seamlessly integrates the headlights into the overall shape. The new bonnet will be finished in white, contrasting with the body color for a modern two-tone effect.
The horizontally extended front grille and the bumper’s air intake has been enlarged
The radiator grille is now narrower and longer horizontally, positioned between the headlamps. Although it is smaller in height compared to previous models, it features a chrome garnish that enhances its visual appeal. Just below the grille, a horizontal air intake extends between the headlamps, complemented by a separate, larger air intake positioned beneath it.
The bumper now sports expanded square air intakes, which are larger than before and feature a spacious grid pattern, giving the front a more aggressive look. On the side, a new horizontal character line runs beneath the door handle, while a step detail on the side skirt adds a three-dimensional effect to the vehicle’s profile.
The boxy body design maximizes interior space with rounded cladding as a side accent
The boxy body design maximizes interior space, with rounded cladding accentuating the wheel arches and creating a cohesive look with the front bumper. The A-pillar rises almost vertically, and the roofline maintains a high, spacious feel, balancing the vehicle’s cute front design with a practical, roomy interior.
Though the rear rendering has yet to be revealed, the tail lamps are anticipated to be enlarged into an oval shape. The new Alto Lapin will be powered by a 660cc inline 3-cylinder R06D mild hybrid engine, marking this model’s first use of hybrid technology. Paired with the next-generation CVT transmission, this setup aims to enhance fuel efficiency and overall performance.
