Acura to Launch New EV in 2025
CG Renderings Unveiled
High Interest in Design Level
Acura has recently introduced its EV Performance Concept, which will be the design foundation for the brand’s upcoming EV model, which is slated for launch in late 2025 or early 2026. This new model will utilize Honda’s proprietary EV platform.
The EV Performance Concept showcases an aggressive design, marking a bold step forward for Acura’s electric lineup. A CG rendering has been released alongside the concept reveal, offering a glimpse into the anticipated appearance of Acura’s forthcoming EV.
Thin headlamps are applied, and air intakes are placed on the bumper
Looking at the appearance, the front’s thin headlamps extend diagonally toward the side. The headlamps that extend along the bonnet parting line become wider as they go toward the side. Vertical air intakes are arranged on both sides of the front, and a trapezoidal bumper grille is located at the bottom. The bumper grille extends horizontally and adds a sharp impression to the front.
The previous concept car included a black high-gloss M-shaped bumper and a front lip, but these elements are expected to be omitted in the production version. Despite this, the rendering attempts to preserve the sporty design theme by integrating an air intake into the bumper. The distinctive front end, which juts out with a piercing design, remains consistent with the original concept.
The design features a frameless window line and a coupe-style roofline
On the side, it features a hidden door handle and a frameless window line. In the concept model, the roof line connected seamlessly to the side window, but the rendering depicts it as joining the body instead. The side B and C pillars have been retained from the concept, while a chrome garnish beneath the roofline adds a touch of sophistication.
The coupe-like roofline flows smoothly from the A-pillar, rising gently towards the rear. A horizontal character line runs from the bonnet’s edge to the rear tail lamp, enhancing the vehicle’s dynamic profile. Additionally, the lower side skirt area is sculpted with a sunken shape and added volume, creating a more three-dimensional appearance.
The rear design appears closer to a vertical stance, suggesting changes during production
The rear design was not revealed, but the Performance EV concept continued the sleek design with horizontal tail lights and sharp ends. In the case of the concept car, the roofline continues to the front of the trunk lid, but in the rendering, the rear shape has been changed to be closer to vertical. Placing the rear spoiler at the end created a sporty feel.
The bumper side in the center received a black high-gloss finish and a vertical air intake. The concept car’s distinctive appearance has somewhat disappeared in the CG rendering, which allows us to imagine the mass-produced model. However, through realistic changes, we could anticipate the appearance of Acura’s new EV, which will be launched in the future.
