Could it make a comeback as a new model?
Interest in virtual rendering skyrockets

Hyundai is actively pursuing a heritage marketing strategy, reintroducing design elements from iconic models like the Grandeur and Galloper into its new vehicle lineup. The recently unveiled Grandeur has garnered positive feedback for its nod to the first-generation “Square Grandeur.” The design of the Santa Fe has incorporated traces of the Galloper, Hyundai’s inaugural SUV.

Amid this nostalgic trend, discussions about the possibility of completely resurrecting the Galloper are swirling. With advancements in CGI technology and artificial intelligence, creating lifelike renderings of non-existent vehicles has become increasingly common. A recent initiative to modernize the Galloper’s design has captivated people worldwide.

A much more angular look than the Santa Fe
The ideal combination of authenticity and urban style

On September 8, a virtual rendering of the 2025 Hyundai Galloper was shared on Camshaft’s automotive-focused Facebook page. The exterior design draws inspiration from the current Santa Fe while retaining a distinct, solid character unique to the Galloper. The DLO (daylight opening) line notably showcases a straightforward outline without ornate chrome accents.

The rendering features auto-flush door handles, enhancing the vehicle’s sleek paneling. A standout design element is a wheelhouse; while the Santa Fe incorporates trapezoidal over-fenders emphasizing straight lines, the imagined Galloper opts for circular wheel arches, giving it a unique identity. Also, large-diameter front wheels contribute to an upscale urban SUV aesthetic.

The rear design adopts a simplified approach, with a vertically dropping tailgate reminiscent of the Land Rover Defender and Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The horizontal taillights, styled in an L shape, lend a contemporary feel to the vehicle. At the same time, integrating the lower rear window edge with the side character line enhances the overall unity of the design.

The subtly glowing “GALLOPER” chrome lettering and the matte silver rear bumper finish help alleviate any starkness of the dark rear. The tailgate-mounted spare tire, a defining feature of traditional SUVs, would have paired well with the overall aesthetic, similar to those found on models like the Land Rover Defender and Mercedes G-Class.

Sophisticated interior

Interior renderings also showcase a sophisticated design, featuring pastel green accents popular in today’s market, creating an upscale off-roader vibe. A round steering wheel—contrasting the prevalent D-cut designs—highlights the Galloper’s identity as a genuine off-roader. Modern touches, such as a panoramic display and a floating console, complete the contemporary interior vision.
