Ford has unveiled the 2025 model of the Taurus
Large sedan equipped with a hybrid powertrain
Ford’s semi-large sedan, the Taurus, was sold in the U.S. until its sixth generation, but declining demand for sedans led to its discontinuation. Despite no longer being available in the U.S., the Taurus remains in production in other regions. The 2025 model was recently unveiled and features a hybrid powertrain. In markets such as the Middle East, the Taurus is sold as a badge-engineered version of the Chinese Ford Mondeo. It continues its legacy as a large, efficient sedan suited for global markets.
For the 2025 Taurus, it incorporates a hybrid system based on a 1.5L gasoline turbo engine
The biggest change in the 2025 Taurus is the addition of a hybrid powertrain based on Ford’s 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine. A 65-horsepower electric motor and an electronically variable transmission combine with the engine to produce a combined output of 188 horsepower. In the gasoline model, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, making a more powerful 242 horsepower.
Visually, the 2025 Taurus hasn’t strayed far from its predecessor, maintaining much of the same design since it is largely based on the Ford Mondeo. The front features split lamps positioned at the top, with distinctive daytime running lights shaped like a “ㄱ” and dotted lines. Below, square headlamps complement the large, trapezoidal radiator grille that spans the front, giving the sedan a bold and contemporary look.
The Taurus showcases a modern design with line-shaped daytime running lights
The 2025 Taurus sports a sleek and modern exterior design with thoughtful details. A rectangular air intake is positioned on the bumper, connected to black trim, adding a stylish visual element to the front. The bonnet features a design with volume and curved lines, optimizing aerodynamics to reduce air resistance. On the side, the car is equipped with auto flush-type door handles, which give a clean look and emphasize the vehicle’s length.
Chrome garnish is applied along the window line, and the roof line and side pillars are molded in black to enhance sophistication. For the rear, horizontal tail lamps are applied. A dotted line graphic is applied to the inside of the tail lamp. Three separate lamp graphics are also placed for the lower part of the lamp. For the bumper, there is a horizontal reflector and muffler tip and a horizontal chrome garnish surrounding them.
The interior features a 13.2-inch touchscreen supporting advanced driver assistance capabilities
For the interior, the base trim, Ambiente, has an 8-inch digital cluster and a 13.2-inch touchscreen, and voice recognition is available for commands. The mid-trim Trend has dual full automatic air conditioning and Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), which includes forward collision detection and emergency braking, radar-based adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist.
The top trim, Titanium, adds some features, such as a dual-panel panoramic sunroof and a smartphone wireless charging pad. It also features a dynamic grille and 19-inch alloy wheels on the exterior, setting it apart from other trims. In addition, a six-speaker system and a dial-type gear lever are standard across all trims.
