GMC, General Motors’ SUV and commercial vehicle arm, has officially launched the highly anticipated 2025 Sierra EV Denali, an all-electric version of its premium full-size pickup. The Sierra EV Denali builds on the legacy of the brand’s flagship truck and now offers cutting-edge electric performance and features.

For this latest model, the Sierra EV Denali boasts a fully enclosed grille with a striking GMC badge illuminated by ambient lighting. As a standard feature, it comes equipped with a spray-on bedliner and the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system. It maintains the previous model’s towing capacity of 3,945 kg (8,697 pounds) and has 800V DC fast charging capability.

New Battery Options: Improved Range and Powertrain

One of the significant updates for the 2025 Sierra EV Denali is the introduction of two new battery options: Extended Range and Max Range. The Extended Range option delivers an impressive 628 km (390 miles) on a single charge, while the Max Range pushes the envelope to 740 km (460 miles), an improvement over the previous model’s 708 km (440 miles).

The performance also gets a slight boost. The maximum output has increased to 760 horsepower, a bump from 754 horsepower, while the maximum torque remains steady at 108.4 kg.m. The model also features one-pedal driving with regenerative braking, enhancing the overall driving experience.

Crab Walk and Enhanced Cargo Space

The Sierra EV Denali comes standard with four-wheel steering and the unique crab walk function, which makes maneuvering in tight spaces or around sharp curves easier. The truck also features adaptive air ride suspension, which ensures a smooth, comfortable ride even when carrying heavy loads.

Other standout features include a panoramic glass roof and V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) functionality, which allows the vehicle to power a home for up to 21 days in case of an emergency. The Sierra EV Denali includes a frunk (front trunk) and ample cargo space in the rear for added utility.

Price Drop and Future Lineup Additions

The 2025 Sierra EV Denali starts at $91,995, reflecting a significant $7,500 price cut from the previous model’s $99,495. GMC’s decision to offer a smaller battery option has helped lower the price, making the Sierra EV more accessible. The Max Range variant starts at $104,995.

In early 2025, the Sierra EV lineup will expand to include the Elevation and AT4 trims. These are expected to be priced lower than the Denali, offering more variety for buyers in the electric truck segment.
