Audi revealed two new models at the Paris Motor Show on October 14, 2024: the Q6 Sportback e-tron and its high-performance counterpart, the SQ6 Sportback e-tron. These coupe-style electric SUVs have garnered attention for their sporty design and enhanced performance capabilities. Both models are slated for release in the US market by spring or summer 2025.
The Q6 Sportback e-tron is a sleek coupe variant of the previously released Q6 e-tron, distinguished by its aerodynamic design and flowing roofline. With a body measuring 187.3 inches in length, 77.4 inches in width, and 65.6 inches in height, the SUV’s low drag coefficient underscores its sporty appeal.
Battery Options and Quick Charging Capabilities
The Q6 Sportback e-tron is based on the PPE platform used in the Porsche Macan and offers a wide range of performance options, two battery options, and a variety of drive systems. The base model has an 83 kWh battery and produces 252 horsepower, while the upper model has a 100 kWh battery and 306 horsepower.
The high-performance SQ6 model generates 489 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h(62 mph) in just 4.3 seconds. According to the WLTP standard, the range that can be driven on a single charge is 656 km(408 miles), and it takes about 22 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% with fast charging support of up to 270 kW.
Sustainability and Luxurious Interiors
Inside, the Q6 Sportback e-tron offers a spacious cargo area with 511 liters of trunk space, which expands to 1,373 liters when the rear seats are folded down. The 64-liter frunk also provides extra storage.
The interior features advanced technology, including an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch central display, a 10.9-inch passenger display, and an augmented reality head-up display. The headliner and sun visors are made from 100% recycled polyester, highlighting Audi’s commitment to sustainability. A premium 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system delivers high-quality sound for a luxurious driving experience.
Design Highlights and Expected US Launch
At the front, the Q6 Sportback e-tron showcases horizontally connected parametric pixel daytime running lights and cube-shaped LED headlamps, while the rear features vertically arranged micro-pixel LED taillamps. A conventional tailgate replaces the glass one seen on the concept model, adding to the vehicle’s practical appeal.
The Q6 Sportback e-tron and SQ6 Sportback e-tron are expected to launch in the US by spring 2025, with prices starting at 65,900 euros (approximately US$72,000).
