The full-size large sedan DeVille is produced by General Motors through its own brand, Cadillac. Launched in 1959, DeVille boasts a long history and represents the luxury sedans of the past in America. Since the sixth generation model, some units have been imported and launched in South Korea.

After that, the successor model, the Cadillac DTS (DeVille Touring Sedan), was produced until 2011 but was also discontinued due to a decline in demand for luxury sedans. In particular, the Cadillac DTS boasted such a luxurious feel that it was converted into a limousine and used as the official vehicle for the US President.

A History Spanning Nearly Half a Century
Significant Design Evolution

As a model with a long history of nearly 50 years, its symbolism is also considerable. Among these, an overseas rendering designer recently revealed the new DeVille model through rendering after 19 years. It seems to reflect Cadillac’s latest design elements, such as the Cadillac Lyriq and Escalade IQ. Let’s take a look at the newly revived DeVille.

First, the crest grille, Cadillac’s signature design element, is installed on the front. Chrome lines are applied along the layout of the large trapezoidal radiator grille to enhance the sense of luxury. The inside of the grille features a diamond pattern and is finished in black. LED lamps in the form of strips are placed along the sides of the grille.

The headlamp design is vertically oriented, with an angular, carved-like appearance along the sides, giving it a sharp, defined look. Finely arranged pixel LEDs are positioned vertically inside the headlamp, complemented by a line of daytime running lights beside them. The bumper adds a sporty edge with a triple-sectioned air intake.

The horizontal air intake uses a diamond pattern matching the radiator grille’s design, while the side air intake includes a sharply defined garnish. A long, straight bonnet emphasizes the sedan’s length, and a horizontal character line extending along the side door handle highlights the balanced proportions of this large sedan.

Sleek Proportions Emphasized on the Side
Rear Design Maintains Past Elements

Thin cladding lines the circular wheel arches, complemented by newly designed wheels that enhance the car’s refined aesthetic. Once distinctly right-angled, the roofline now arches gracefully, lending a modern silhouette to the design. The elevated window beltline and streamlined side glass add to the sophisticated profile, with a black-finished B-pillar creating a seamless, continuous window effect along the side.

At the rear, vertical taillights echo the design at the front, with the upper portion of the taillights forming a connecting strip across the tailgate. This rear design thoughtfully preserves the DeVille’s heritage, maintaining a boxy shape reminiscent of past models while modernizing the look. The bumper protrusion has been minimized, and new horizontal reflectors in partially blacked-out finishes add a subtle touch of elegance and depth.

Cadillac hasn't been Cadillac for a long time. A Cadillac badge on a Chevy midsize sedan or Chevy Suburban has no appeal to our household. While you're at it someone mention to Ford that Lincoln hasn't been Lincoln since the 1961 Lincoln Continental that Raymond Burr drove as Perry Mason on TV!

Yes, I'll be looking forward to taking a test drive. We need the Cadillac back.

Yes, I'll be looking forward to taking a test drive. We need the Cadillac back. It should be affordable.

Yeah, a great looking prototype. Just keep the woke bean counters out of the marketing decision making. In other words, you ain't gonna sell many if you market it as an EV for $75,000 plus or a 4 cylinder turbo. Install a 6 cylinder with no turbo and keep the base prise to the low $40,000 range.
