Hyundai’s Overseas Model Creta
Reborn as a Pickup Truck
New Harmony with Robust Design
Hyundai’s compact SUV, the Creta, was launched in 2014 as a strategic model for the Indian market. It has gained widespread popularity for its practical design tailored to local needs. With features like a spacious back seat for large families and high ground clearance to handle India’s uneven roads, the Creta quickly became a bestseller. In its first year, 48,888 units were sold, and the model is expected to surpass 1 million units in production by next year.
With growing interest in the Creta from overseas markets, a new rendering has surfaced, imagining it as a pickup truck. While keeping much of the original Creta’s look, this design introduces a new dimension to the vehicle’s versatility and sparks discussion.
Tucson-Inspired Design with a Bold Front Grille
The rendering shows a pickup version of the Creta that retains many design cues from the facelifted SUV model. Up front, it shares its broad, angular rectangular grille and bold pattern with the current Creta, which bears a resemblance to Hyundai’s Tucson. A key feature is the seamless horizon lamp beneath the bonnet, giving the front a sleek, modern look. The split headlamps sit below, contributing to the boxy design that aligns with Hyundai’s recent styling trends. The aggressive bumper design features a front splitter, horizontal air intake, and additional side air intakes.
Truck Bed Connected to Rear
Horizontal Taillamps Applied
Moving to the side, the rendering modifies the vehicle’s rear end to accommodate a truck bed, starting behind the C-pillar. Plastic cladding follows the side rocker panel and wheel arches, giving the car a rugged appearance. A wide rear window behind the C-pillar enhances rear visibility, while horizontal auxiliary lights above the bed enhance the truck’s functionality.
The rear design continues the theme of the Creta SUV, with boxy lines and horizontal taillights. The tail lamps feature a design that mirrors the front daytime running lights with a horizontal and vertical graphic layout. A horizontal reflector is integrated into the bumper, maintaining the sturdy look, and the rear diffuser from the original Creta is carried over for an extra touch of toughness.
Modernized Interior
Horizontal Design Theme Applied
The rendering imagines a sleek, modern cabin with a wide digital display connecting the digital cluster and the infotainment system. A horizontal logo marks the steering wheel, and the interior maintains a horizontal theme throughout, with long air vents positioned below the display.
The center console is equipped with a mix of physical and touch buttons for climate control and a dial-type lever for adjusting the air conditioning temperature. A boot-type gear lever and cup holders are also present. This modern yet functional layout complements the rugged exterior, and the overall design has been well-received by online enthusiasts, who appreciate the harmony between the pickup truck form and the Creta’s robust styling.
