Porsche, a German sports car brand, is called everyone’s dream car because it has a high level of design, performance, and brand heritage. In particular, the most representative model, the 911, has not changed much in design from the first model to the present, so it is safe to say that it has a complete identity.
It has been reported that a Porsche over 30 years old has been reborn overseas, thanks to the recent Restomod trend of giving old cars a new makeover. Let’s look closer to see what kind of performance and design it will have when it reappears to the public and how much it will cost.
The Porsche 964: the Icon in the 1990s

Theon Design, a UK-based tuning company specializing in Porsche restorations, has taken on the challenge of transforming the classic Porsche 964 into a modern masterpiece, now known as the Theon R. The exact year of the donor 964 has not been disclosed. Still, it is believed to be from the early 1990s. The restoration process has given this 30-year-old car a fresh lease on life.
Although the exterior retains much of the original 964’s timeless look, the materials and engineering under the hood tell a different story. Carbon fiber body panels—commonly found in Formula 1 cars—have significantly reduced the curb weight by about 1,000 kg (2,205 pounds), allowing for improved performance.

Powering the Theon R is a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated, air-cooled, horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engine, which produces over 507 horsepower. While this output falls slightly short of Porsche’s latest 911 models, Theon Design claims that the car’s reduced weight gives it superior acceleration compared to newer models.
The extensive use of carbon fiber has also resulted in torsional rigidity similar to Porsche’s latest vehicles. The car’s rear also sports a vintage whale-tail spoiler, reminiscent of the 1974 Porsche 911, further enhancing its retro appeal.
Performance Rivals the New 911 GT3 RS
Price Tag Approaching $1 Million
This vehicle has carbon ceramic brakes, a limited-slip differential, and custom MCS dampers, making it a fully-fledged high-performance car. Its performance reportedly rivals the latest Porsche models, with a zero-to-100 km/h(62 mph) time in the 3-second range, similar to the 2025 GT3 RS.
The price tag for this masterpiece is about $1 million (approximately 1.3 billion won). Moreover, the custom build process takes around 18 months. It may seem pricey compared to the new Porsche GT3 RS, which costs about $240,000 (roughly 300 million won).
