Renault is making waves with its upcoming compact pickup truck, the Niagara, which will succeed the current Oroch model. Launched initially as a pickup version of the Dacia-produced Duster SUV, the Oroch has served the South American market well. With the third generation of the Duster unveiled, excitement is growing for the new pickup based on this popular model. However, the Oroch will replace the Niagara, marking a shift in design and branding for Renault’s compact truck.

New Niagara Concept Draws Attention

The facelifted version of Renault’s Oroch pickup was revealed in April 2022, but by 2026, it will be replaced by the all-new Niagara. Initially set to launch in the South American market, the Niagara will later expand globally. A concept rendering of the new Niagara, designed by an overseas artist, has already gained significant attention. Like its predecessor, the Niagara is based on the third-generation Duster platform, bringing a fresh look and modern updates.

Renault had previously teased the Niagara with a concept truck design, and the production model is expected to carry over several key elements from that concept. The rendering showcases Renault’s latest design language, which can be seen across their current lineup, including models like the Captur and Symbioz. Up front, the Niagara features a horizontal grille seamlessly integrated with the headlights, creating a bold and cohesive look. The grille design emphasizes a sleek, modern appearance, while the sharp horizontal headlights add an aggressive edge to the truck’s styling.

Headlamps Connected to the Grille
Split Turn Signal Lamps

The rendering showcases headlamps that visually connect with the grille, providing a continuous flow across the front of the vehicle. The horizontal lighting design thickens as it extends outward toward the sides. A horizontal lighting pattern is applied inside the grille, with Renault’s logo prominently displayed at the center. Split turn signal lamps are placed on the bumper, with the arrow-shaped signal lights creating a bold visual effect by stretching across the front. The front bumper also features a large trapezoidal air intake, adding to the Niagara’s rugged yet futuristic look.

Robust Side Design and V-shaped Taillamps

On the sides, angular wheel arches are accentuated with plastic cladding, adding to the truck’s robust appearance. The A-, B-, and C-pillars are finished in black, providing a modern contrast to the rest of the body. The rendering suggests new wheel designs and side rocker panels connected to the cladding, contributing to the truck’s strong, durable presence.

At the rear, the Niagara tailgate incorporates Renault’s logo, with a horizontal reflector and V-shaped taillights that protrude toward the rear quarter panel. This design element is unique to the Niagara, blending modern aesthetics and traditional pickup utility. Consumer feedback on the rendering has been positive, with many praising the futuristic design combined with the truck’s functional features.

As anticipation builds, the Niagara is expected to make a significant impact when it hits the market. Its fresh design and strong performance features will appeal to both existing Renault fans and new buyers alike.

what the heck, looks like smallest bed ever conceived which probably makes it almost worthless and you don't even tell us what that small # is?? like 3' or what? The trend towards smaller beds is the worst thing happening in modern design, I like the Maverick but couldnt they add a foot to bed?
