On November 5, Toyota Thailand launched the latest iteration of the Corolla Altis, a four-door sedan that continues the long-standing legacy of Toyota’s globally renowned Corolla series. Known for its durability and practicality, the Corolla Altis has evolved through various generations, with the 12th generation marking a shift to the TNGA platform. This unified structure provides consistent quality across markets, ensuring the Corolla Altis remains dependable for drivers worldwide.

Spacious Design and Thai-Specific Features

The new Corolla Altis being sold in Thailand is manufactured based on global specifications and stands out with its spacious and sophisticated exterior design. With a length of 4,630 mm (182.3 inches), a width of 1,780 mm (70.1 inches), a height of 1,435 mm (56.5 inches), and a wheelbase of 2,700 mm (106.3 inches), it features the ideal size for a mid-size sedan.

The powertrain is offered in three configurations: 1.8-liter hybrid engine, 1.8-liter gasoline, and 1.6-liter gasoline. The hybrid model’s fuel efficiency has increased by 0.5 km/L (1.2 mpg) from the previous model to 23.8 km/L (56.0 mpg) due to improved battery performance.

New Color Option and Competitive Pricing

For this new model, a total of five exterior colors are available, with the new Cement Gray Metallic added. This color, which adds a luxurious feel, is expected to be very popular in the Thai market.

The price is set at around 4 million yen ( for the 1.6-liter gasoline model, around 4.4 million yen (about $26,685) for the 1.8-liter gasoline model, and around 4.5 million yen (about $30,000) for the 1.8-liter hybrid model. If you purchase by the end of December 2024, you can receive a discount of around 230,000 yen (about $1,500).

GR Sport Variant for a Sportier Appeal

In addition to the standard models, Toyota has also introduced the sporty GR Sport variant of the Corolla Altis. With a revamped front design, the GR Sport offers a more dynamic and aggressive look, appealing to customers seeking style and performance. This model is expected to attract a broad audience, combining the practicality of the Corolla Altis with a touch of sportiness.
