Visited the National Aerospace Development Administration to Encourage Scientists and Others

Chairman Kim Jong Un of North Korea evaluated that the launch of the military reconnaissance satellite has “significantly enhanced our Republic’s war deterrence.”
The Korean Central News Agency reported on the 24th, “Chairman Kim visited the National Aerospace Technology Bureau and encouraged scientists, technicians, and executives,” and “Chairman Kim said at this place, ‘The new type of transport rocket is a proud exercise of the legitimate right of defense that cannot yield even an inch or stop for a moment.'” North Korea previously launched a transport rocket, Chollima-1, carrying a military reconnaissance satellite, Malligyong-1, without warning on the night of the 21st.
Chairman Kim praised the reconnaissance satellite, saying, “It heralds a new era of a space power and rises,” and “The reconnaissance satellite that always controls the military maneuvers and movements of hostile forces is the watchman of the universe.” He added, “Let’s strive more and go all out towards the immediate goals and prospects of establishing aerospace reconnaissance capabilities.”
It appears that Chairman Kim brought his daughter Ju-ae on this encouragement visit. Recently, Chairman Kim has been observed accompanying Ju-ae on major economic sites and military-industrial inspections, which is being evaluated as a signal for the North Korean succession structure. Chairman Kim also took commemorative photos with officials from the National Aerospace Technology Bureau and the Emergency Satellite Launch Preparation Committee on this day.
Chairman Kim also hosted a banquet at the Magnolia Hall the previous evening to celebrate the successful launch of the reconnaissance satellite. His wife, Ri Sol-Ju, Ju-ae, and other family members, as well as executives, scientists, and technicians from the National Aerospace Technology Bureau, attended this event as the main guests.
In his speech on this day, Prime Minister Kim Dok-hoon evaluated the reconnaissance satellite, stating, “Our military power has truly been strengthened to be world-class.”
