It is reported that President Joe Biden’s campaign is formulating a strategy to alert voters to the dangers of Donald Trump’s re-election to win the election on November 5th (local time).

Reuters reported on the 24th that the Biden camp has been focusing on warning that Trump poses a serious threat to American democracy and endangers abortion and other personal freedoms after predicting a near-certain rematch between Biden and Trump several months ago.

Deployment of Election Campaigners in Swing States
Planned Campaign Rallies by Biden and Harris

It is believed that the Biden camp has assigned Biden and Kamala Harris messages to be delivered to voters.

The camp has stationed election campaigners in seven swing states, including Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, which will essentially determine the direction of the presidential election. It plans to campaign rallies by Biden and Harris within a few weeks.

In these campaign rallies, Biden will primarily focus on economic issues and give a more sincere speech about the threat that Trump poses to democracy, according to Reuters.

On the evening of the 15th, when the results of the Republican presidential candidate caucus in Iowa were announced, Biden called on social media for participation in the presidential fundraising campaign, saying, “This election will always be a battle between you and me against extreme MAGA (Make America Great Again) Republicans.”

Targeting Younger and Black Voters

Harris launched a national election campaign focused on the Republican abortion ban law in Wisconsin on the 22nd. As the first black Vice President of the United States, Harris is tasked with attracting support from younger and black voters, whose support for Biden has weakened, according to Reuters analysis.

There is also an analysis that the result of the New Hampshire primary (preliminary election), where Trump won with 54.3% of the vote against Nikki Haley, who had 42.3%, is a good sign for Biden.

The New York Times (NYT) reported that a large number of votes were cast for Haley by independents, college graduates, and Republicans concerned about Trump’s “legal problems,” indicating a persistent vulnerability that Trump’s nomination as a presidential candidate could pose a significant risk to the Republican Party.

Biden Camp’s Election Strategy

In this situation, Biden camp staff believe that most Americans either like or dislike the two former and current presidents, and this election will be decided by which side can get more “domestic rabbit” voters at the polls. This means there is no need to waste effort chasing “wild rabbit” voters who support other candidates.

In response to some Democrats’ criticism that the election campaign is losing its focus, the Biden camp recently reinforced its forces with veterans election experts. Mitch Landrieu, a former mayor of New Orleans and White House infrastructure coordinator, became the co-chair of the camp nationwide earlier this month. Dan Kanninen, a veteran of the Democratic presidential campaign, joined as a swing state manager.

In addition, Mike Donilon, a long-time speechwriter for Biden and senior White House aide, and Jennifer O’Malley Dillon, who held a key position in the 2020 presidential campaign, were dispatched to the camp the day before.

Despite some recent polls showing similar or even higher support for Trump, voter anger over high prices of living, and questions about Biden’s age, economic plan, and border and Middle East policies, the Biden camp is confident that Biden will win the “rematch,” according to Reuters.

At a fundraising event held on the outskirts of Boston on December 5th last year, Biden also expressed his confidence that he is the Democratic candidate who will defeat Trump, stating, “If Trump hadn’t run, I might not have run. We just can’t let him win.”
