Extended Support… Doesn’t Help Ukraine
Putin, Under Pressure for a Ceasefire
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has opposed a Ukrainian aid bill that the US Congress is preparing to approve. The reason is that Russian President Vladimir Putin will never back down despite Western support, including the United States.
According to Bloomberg on the 13th (local time), Musk stated at the X Space Forum, “Such spending prolongs the war and does not help Ukraine,” and urged citizens to “contact their representatives regarding this bill.”
He continued, “President Putin is under pressure to end the war,” and claimed, “If he backs down, he will be assassinated.”
However, he dismissed criticisms that he was defending President Putin as “preposterous,” emphasizing, “My companies have done more than anyone to weaken Russia.”
He further noted, “I am interested in preventing the deaths of people on both sides of the war,” and added, “I doubt whether it is wise to oust President Putin.”
Senator Ron Johnson, who also attended the forum, pointed out, “President Putin will not lose to Ukraine,” and said, “Those hoping for Ukraine’s victory are living in a fantasy.”
