A Voice Phishing Criminal
Was Arrested After a Sudden Raid on His Home
Died After Jumping From the 8th Floor
A suspected voice phishing criminal died after jumping from a building eight stories high.
According to the legal community, on April 4, the Busan District Prosecutor’s Office investigator received information that a man suspected of voice phishing resided in an office building in Incheon. On the 2nd, the investigation team raided the man’s residence.
Man is reported to have strongly resisted when the prosecution notified him of the execution of a sentence for voice phishing charges.
A sentence execution warrant is a summons to execute a sentence for a person sentenced to actual imprisonment who is not in custody.
In response, the suspected criminal said, “I’ll go out after getting dressed,” and then reportedly jumped out of the window.
The suspected criminal, a free-form non-executor with a confirmed prison sentence, had previously been sentenced to actual imprisonment at the Seoul Eastern District Court for committing voice phishing crimes.
However, after serving a six-month prison term, he is reported to have been involved in voice phishing crimes again and received a prison sentence at the Seoul Southern District Court.
Meanwhile, the police announced that they were investigating the incident.
